Our story

Every flavour has a story.
Here's ours.

Hi, I'm Farah. In 2017 I started baking the sweets I grew up with in my Hamilton kitchen – and giving them a Kiwi twist. What began as boxes for friends has turned into hundreds of orders, market mornings, a lot of ribbon, and a name people say with a smile.

Two homes, one table

Tamil sweets, Kiwi baking.

Tamil celebrations are built around sweets – barfi pressed into trays, ghee-rich ladoos, cardamom in everything. New Zealand gave me brown butter, Biscoff, feijoas in autumn and a love of a proper afternoon tea. TTGB lives in the space between the two. A cookie with a milk-barfi heart. A pistachio-kunafa bar poured by hand. A birthday cake that tastes like someone's childhood.

I'm self-taught, which really means I'm stubborn: every recipe on this site has been made, tweaked and remade until it tastes exactly like it should. Nothing is mass-produced. If you order on a Tuesday, it's baked for you that week.

“If a treat doesn't have a story – a memory, a festival, a customer who asked three times – it doesn't make the menu.”

How we got here

From a few boxes to market mornings

  1. 2017 · The first boxes

Barfi cookies and stuffed dates for friends and family, wrapped at the kitchen table. Word got around faster than the cookies cooled.

  2. Then came the cakes

Birthdays, Diwali, Eid, gender reveals and weddings – custom cakes with the flavours people actually grew up with, not just vanilla and chocolate.

  3. Market days

A 3 m gazebo, a trestle table and a queue. Markets and pop-ups around the Waikato became the best part of the week – and the fastest way to sell out of Dubai chocolate.

  4. Today

Still one kitchen, still small batches – now with online ordering, courier to anywhere in Aotearoa, and pre-booking so your treats are waiting at the stall with your name on them.

How we bake

Four things we won't compromise on

Small batches, always

We bake in short runs so what reaches you is fresh. It means some things sell out – join the newsletter and we'll tell you when they're back.

Made by hand

Every bar is poured, every cookie is filled and every box is ribboned by a person. Drizzles vary; the flavour doesn't.

Made for celebrating

Birthdays, Diwali, Christmas, Eid, corporate thank-yous. We've baked for all of them and we'd love to bake for yours.

Rooted in community

A Hamilton home bakery that grew through word of mouth. We try to give back the same way – locally, generously, and with lots of sugar.

The boring-but-important bits

We're a registered home kitchen, and we take the details seriously.

Looking ahead

A cornerstone of joy.

Our vision is simple: become a place that bridges cultures through the universal language of baked goods – crafting not just cakes and pastries but lasting memories, with care for the people and the planet around us.
